Our Commitment
Phoenician Garden Mediterranean Bar and Grill is committed to making its website usable by people of all abilities, including those who use assistive technology. We treat this as an ongoing operational responsibility, not a one-time project. We follow the practices described below and we want to hear from you if you run into a barrier.
Standard We Target
We aim for the website to substantially conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the standard most commonly cited under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act. "Substantially conform" reflects our actual posture: many checks pass automated audit; some require human judgment; some are works in progress. We do not represent perfect conformance.
What We Have Done
The website has been built with the following accessibility practices in mind:
- Semantic HTML structure with
<main>, <nav>, <header>, and <footer> landmarks on every page.
- A single H1 on every page and a heading hierarchy that does not skip levels.
- Alt text on content images and
aria-hidden on decorative SVG icons.
- Keyboard navigability for the primary navigation, mobile drawer, and the FAQ disclosure widgets, with focus restoration when overlays close.
- A skip-to-main-content link on every page.
- A
prefers-reduced-motion media query that disables non-essential animation and parallax.
- The accessiBe widget as a supplemental tool to give visitors additional adjustment controls (text size, contrast, cursor, link emphasis, etc.).
- A May 2026 manual review pass that fixed disclosed accessibility findings from the axe-core automated rule set, including drawer focus management, dropdown ARIA semantics, and breadcrumb link distinguishability.
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following areas where conformance is not yet complete and we are actively working on them:
- Color contrast on a small number of promotional and call-to-action surfaces. We periodically review color pairings across the site against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast guidance and refine them as part of our ongoing accessibility work. If you encounter a specific element that is difficult to read, please tell us using the contact information below and we will prioritize it.
- Overlay tool boundaries. The accessiBe widget provides adjustments at the page level, but it does not substitute for code-level accessibility. We treat it as a helper, not a substitute, and we do not represent that turning on accessiBe by itself brings the site into full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance.
- Third-party content. Some embedded third-party content (online ordering through SpotOn, social media embeds, mapping) is governed by those providers and we cannot control their accessibility directly. We choose vendors with accessibility commitments where possible and we report issues we discover.
Manual Audit Cadence
We run an automated accessibility scan against the website using the axe-core rule set on a recurring basis and after any material design change. We commission a more thorough manual WCAG 2.1 AA audit by a qualified accessibility consultant on an annual cadence, or sooner if the website undergoes a substantial redesign. Findings from each pass are tracked and remediated on a documented timeline.
